A Foundation For Every Season

Psalm 1:1-3 NLT

"Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. ‭‭
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers." (Psalm 1:3 NIV)

Every season. That’s a promise!

We often think "prospering" means living in perpetual summer—always blooming, always sunny, everything going right.

But life has winters. We face diagnoses, losses, and seasons where the ground feels frozen and bare.

Psalm 1 gives us a different picture of prosperity. The tree in this image doesn't survive because it avoids winter. It survives because of where it is planted. And where are the nutrients coming from?

When the seasons around it change, its source does not. Its roots are deep in the flowing stream. Even when it looks bare on the outside, the roots, nourishing, it is drinking deeply on the inside. That is my desire in this section. To give perspective. Nourishing your soul and mind so that your heart can trust.

True stability isn't about controlling the weather of our lives. It's about being rooted in the unchanging character of God, who He is and what He does. No matter what season you are in right now, the Stream is still flowing. May these writing on perspective give you hope. I pray that the joy of the Lord would be your strength. The joy comes from knowing Him.
